The Welsh for Adults Centre teamed up with National Express to provide football fans with a patriotic master class en route to Wembley.
Every passenger travelling to the Wales vs. England football match on 5 September received a special Welsh football guide – allowing them to brush up on their singing and pronunciation before the highly anticipated match.
Following a string of Welsh defeats, staff based at National Express’ station in Cardiff contacted the Welsh for Adults Centre to try and boost fan’s morale on the special football services. The guides featured a beginner’s guide to the national anthem, key Welsh football phrases and tips for correctly pronouncing words.
Phrases included:
Come on you Welsh! (Dewch ‘mlaen Cymru!)
Oh come on ref! That was offside! (O C’mon reff! Roedd e’n camsefyll!)
